And another street art piece checked off my list of must-sees:
Then a quick burger lunch at cow bells
For dinner we headed back to one of the stops on our foodie tour last week- Via 313!
In front is a craft brew house so it was beer and pizza!
Sooo good!
Since we were on Rainey street we decided to walk around some more and found the cutest bar with games on the patio
Thought this was funny =]
Overall: Monday was a success!!
Tuesday =
A boat tour to see the famous Austin bats! There are nearly a million bats that live under the Congress bridge and each night the fly out after sunset and consume 10,000 lbs of insects!
A thousand people line up on the bridge each night to watch (even though you can't see from the bridge!!)
This funny little guy swims right up to all the boats looking for some handouts!
Really hard to capture in a phot but there were SOOO many!!
After we were starving and stopped by a place we visited in Dallas for Meg's graduation- hopdoddy
Wednesday began with a visit to groupon to check for local deals!
As a result Cor got me a 4 week membership to the crossfit gym next to our house (for only $44) !!!
I took my first class today and thought I was going to die near the end! So worth it! =]
Since I worked my booty off, Cor rewarded me with a place I've been dying to try... The highest ranked pizza place in Austin!
In the evening we took the pups to have a walk around ladybird lake (just a part of the 10+ mile trek)
Bruce went in the water for a quick dip!
On the way home we stopped at a food truck Cor has been wanting to try, but it has really weird hours
Thursday began with the unfortunate occurrence of our AC going out! Soo needless to say we had to get out of the house quick!
Our touristy pic =D
Lunch at Koriente- a little Asian fusion place near our house
Since it was nearly 90 degrees in our house after lunch we had to get the boys out of there, which meant the perfect time to explore the auditorium shores dog park and swimming spot!
Brucey LOVED to swim! I wish I could post of the video of him swimming out to the tennis ball (which his mouth was too little to grab while swimming)
Silly Milo took ONE very quick dip in the water and then was perfectly happy on land!
Then even got some sprinkler fun time in with daddy!
Such a pretty spot-
Friday began with a kayak trip down ladybird lake!
Getting my tan on while my personal paddler shuttled me around... Hehe
The turtles also wanted to work on their tans
Mansions lining the lake
So much fun with this handsome guy =D
About an hour into our trip Cor and I thought it would be a good idea to take turns trying 30 second "sprints". On his second round he makes a sharp right turn (and he insists MY weight shifted to the right) causing us to FLIP our boat!! In the water everything went.. Our nalgenes, Cor's hat, his shirt, us and our phones!!
LUCKILY Cor had given me his phone, which had been sitting on his lap, about 5 minutes earlier to put in my bikini top with mine so it wouldn't get splashed when he paddled.
I also had my life vest on and popped right back up out of the water. Both of our phones still got dunked and I was so panicked.
Rewind about a week and Cor and I were in a grocery store by the gym and happened to see a machine that dries wet cell phones and we commented on it, wondering if it worked. WELL needless to say we had the chance to find out!!
We rushed back to shore and jammed to the machine, arriving about 15-20 minutes after they had been dunked. The machine costs $20 and takes 30 minutes. Andddddd...
Surprise surprise they are ALIVEEEEE!!
The photo below is the photo I accidentally took when I was very hurriedly trying to shut off our phones while soaking wet!!
Cor's phone is fine too... It's a miracle! Looks like our only casualty was Cor's shirt! We'll take it!!
Saturday morning we headed to the farmers market downtown and got some yummy water ice!!
Followed by a stop at REI
Mini chair... Big man
Sunday we went to the Alamo draft house to see Ted 2! The theatre is awesome! It has a full menu with food and drinks, kicks people out for texting or even looking at their phone, and doesn't let people in late! Best $8 movie experience ever.. Even if Ted 2 sucked
Plus super cool decor
In the evening we headed to a little bar that serves s'more trays, complete with open flame!
