This time we knew where we were going and didn't waste any time heading straight for our spot.
We even brought a floatie this time!
Water dog
Daddy was off exploring and Brucey would NOT take his eyes off of him!
Hiking back.. A man and his dogs
We had the best time there and the dogs love being out with us. We had the place almost to ourselves the whole day!
Monday evening we were scheduled to have our second dance lesson, but when we arrived the manager said there was a scheduling conflict and our instructor wasn't there. She apologized and gave us an extra dance lesson for free! Two more to go, lucky Cor!!
On the drive home, we noticed these little guys were in the street! We've been walking past this puppies since we arrived in Austin. Originally, there was 10 and now only 4 left without homes. I've of course been dying to get the chance to play with them!
This little girl with grey eyes stole my heart!!
Since it was Monday, we took advantage of the $6.99 medium pizza deal at south side flyer pizza in our neighborhood. We even got two this time!!
To start:
And the finish line:
Best cheese pizza EVER- even Cor loves it!!!
Tuesday we headed to Barton Springs Pool, which is one of the best known pools in the U.S.! It is spring fed and at an almost constant temperature of ~70 degrees!
The diving board was the best part.. Cor had so much fun doing dives and flips! I myself enjoyed a few regular jumps off!
We learned A LOT and it was more fun than I expected... Now I just hope we can remember it all!!
Wednesday began with another trip to our Greenbelt spot.. We just couldn't get enough of this gem!
Even though Milo doesn't like to swim, he is ALWAYS so enthusiastic to go.. And we always end up wearing him out!
Yay for phone timer family photos!! =]
Wednesday lunch for Cor was Dock and Roll
$15 lobster roll that Cor lovvveeed
And for me Regal Ravioli (yay for food truck parks with several options right next to each other!)
Becauuuuuseee in the same food park was Gourdough's donuts!
Cor got Mama's chocolate cake and I got the strawberry one.. Both were HEAVEN
Thursday we let the pups rest while we walked around South Congress Street.
Cor got the famous "turbo" coffee from Jo's (which has the I love you so much wall we took a photo by earlier)
Lunch for Cor was at Koriente, which has self serve unlimited miso soup and salad included with your meal!
Thursday night we booked a tour of the University of Texas clock tower, where the infamous sniper, Charles Whitman, killed 14 people in the 60's.
Getting out of the elevator view on the 27th floor
Beautiful views of Austin
Behind one of those flagpoles is where a woman hid for 90 minutes to avoid behind shot
Where I was standing is where Charles Whitman's body fell after he was killed.
Charles Whitman killed a few people on these stairs before constructing his baracade.
The tour had very pretty views but gave NO information on the murders.. Which we were bummed out.. Yeah we're morbid and weird.. Whatever =]
When Cor asked a question about the event, the tour guides were very uneasy and did not want to engage in the topic.
After the tour we went to try a place called moojo across the street, which had customizable ice cream sandwiches
Cute tables!!
This place was sooooo good, Cor had to get two!!
Friday we had breakfast at Torchy's Tacos, a place we went in Dallas that originated in Austin.
This quest is probably the best thing ever! I didn't take a picture of our tacos because I was way too hungry =]
After breakfast we went to our greenbelt spot for the last time.
I will really miss this view
And this one!
Of all the amazing things about Austin, I will miss this the most. Our greenbelt spot was perfect.. Secluded, beautiful, and our pups absolutely loved it. I absolutely LOVE watching Brucey jump off the rocks and swim, and he loves it too!!
Friday night we got dinner at Gourmands neighborhood pub
And thennnn we followed it up with another trip to Moojo =D
Pretty view of the UT Tower on our walk
Saturday we went to my crossfit gym's in house competition. I've never seen a crossfit competition before in person and I wanted to see if it'd be doable for me one day! I think it is!
After we did some souvenir shopping, we tried a ramen place on 6th street. Neither Cor nor I have ever had ramen at a restaurant and wanted to see how it was.
Verdict = no thank you!
In the evening we went back to the crossfit gym for some mma fights.
We wanted to walk around "dirty 6th" just because we didn't do it our whole trip and it's a "thing" in Austin.
We then walked around the Capitol building, which is so pretty all lit up at night
Sunday morning we decided to go to our first breakfast place in Austin- Gravy.
$12 total and so stinkin good!
Bruce is ACTUALLY allowing some cuddling!
After breakfast we did.. Well I did.. A lot of packing and preparation for our trip back home.
We, of course, had to take the pups to auditorium shores one last time.
Last swim in Texas!
Look carefully.. How many pups do you see?! One sweet girl decided she liked us and laid on Cor's lap with Milo!!
That evening we headed to Mount Bonnell to watch our final sunset in Austin.
We even got to witness a tiny wedding ceremony next to us! Just the bride and groom and 3 friends.. Bigger than ours!
The stairs down and up!
I will desperately miss walking into this place for 7:30 am class every morning.. Ugh it's one of the worst parts of leaving for me.
Our little place that was cozy and the perfect size for us..
I can't believe it's over and as I finish this post from California, it feels like a dream. Now the fun task of finding a new place and moving begins.. Sigh.. Sweet summer we already miss you...
Goodbye Austin, thank you for the lifelong memories <3
XO
