Fabulous February 2015

February began with a very exciting super bowl (even though my Broncos weren't in it) and a not so exciting visit to the vet.

My family dog, Hollie, had an apparent stroke (or possibly an episode of a vestibular disease) that was really scary. She couldn't walk, had nystagmus (constant eye movement), and a head tilt. She always appeared not to recognize us for a brief period and wouldn't eat. She stayed at vet for a few days before we decided to bring her home. She's always be a very shy dog and we knew she was very scared there. Thankfully, she is now doing GREAT!

Her nystagmus has stopped and her head tilt is also gone. She is eating and getting better on her feet everyday! I'm SO SO relieved that my Hollie girl is doing better!

Coming home

Her pack welcoming her home. You can see her head tilt a bit in this pic.

Happy to be home in her own bed.

We love you Hollie bell!

Next we had a 4 day/Valentine's weekend and Cor and I took off to Prescott, AZ!

Our old street

The best place we've ever lived.

After settling in Friday and walking around town a bit we had lunch at Cor's favorite local place Bill's Grill. Then we took a short nap and walked around the lake at Granite Mountain.

For dinner we went to my favorite local place, La Bruzza's for our Valentine's date night.

Saturday we went to Flagstaff, AZ to meet up with the Wiercks and Cor's parents who were in town!

We got to see their Alma Mater and explore the campus (where Zach is currently attending!)

After our tour we went to Brad's sister's cabin (where the Wiercks and Cor's parents were staying the night) and had a fun night of food and catch phrase of course!! We stayed up wayyy late and then decided at the last minute to head back to our hotel (we made a 2 hour drive at 1 am... Yikes) but we didn't want to waste our hotel and figured we'd be able to sleep in!

Sunday we met up with Pat and Cindy who were spending a night in Prescott for Cindy's birthday. After lunch and a much needed nap we headed to play some pool before dinner. We also ran into this lady in one of the shops with wolf dogs!

Beautiful!

Our own sheriff

The birthday girl

Monday we spent some alone time together and took a scenic drive before heading home

Until next time Prescott... We love you!!!

My softball team that I coach is in full gear.. We're having a bit of a rough start but once we smooth everything out I think we'll have a great team!

Last weekend Cor and I went to watch Vanessa's team play in their first round CIF game (they won)! Woo hoo! Isn't she the cutest coach?!

The boys got new Easter "peeps"

I also won a Fitbit at work and have been a walking fool trying to beat all my coworkers at steps!! It's so fun and it keeps me MOVING!!

So the pups have been getting lots of steps too!!
My best day so far is 22,000 steps! Which equals a little over 9 miles!!

I love it!!

So that's February in a nut shell! On to March we go!

March = spring break = Hawaii!!! So I'm super pumped for this month!!

XO!

Welcome 2015!

It's 2015! And coincidentally, the one year anniversary of our blog! It's been fun to look back on our memories of last year and I am so thankful I decided to do this =]

January began with Sean's 55th birthday! Happy Birthday Sean! We celebrated with the start to our Finley family vacation in Coronado. The entire family spent two nights together in the beautiful navy base beachfront hotel!

January 1st is also a special day for Cor and I because it is the anniversary of the first day I ever saw Cor's face in 2009. It is a moment I will never forget because I was instantly hit with butterflies and the thought of "oh no this could be bad".. Which had NEVER happened to me before (and still obviously hasn't!) I felt an instant connection with him, something I thought only happened in movies. 6 years later and here we are <3

But back to our vaca:

We had a bonfire on the 1st (thankfully we were able to snag a firepit before they were all claimed)

S'mores were plentiful after three extra large pizzas!

Friday was spent on the beach until Cor got off work. Then we headed for a quick trip to the exchange and back for another bonfire.

I also got to use my new camera again in the evening and get some more practice in!! These were taken a little later than I would have liked, so the light isn't perfect... BUT practice makes perfect!

And last but not least.. My wonderful husband and I =]

And then....

Cor and Meg having a cartwheel-off! I wish I could post the videos!

Notice Ais on the right? I say she won hands down =]

Meg and Johnny.. It was nice to have Meg's longtime boyfriend, Johnny, join us this year. He's extremely helpful, pleasant, and a nice addition to our clan =]

After the bonfire, Cor, Meg, Johnny, and I went bowling... No pics though! But it was a good last night in SD!

This morning we headed to the beach and enjoyed our last hours all together until May.

The only way I can sneak a pic

It was a lovely end to a memorable two week stay in Coronado. We will all be together again in May for Meg's graduation, so thankfully we don't need to go another full year without being reunited. Although our gatherings are not frequent, each one is special. I feel very thankful to be a part of the Finley fam =]

So welcome 2015- it will be a year filled with new adventures and new goals
