We left earlyyyyy Saturday morning and hopped on a direct flight to Denver
Exit rows for us so lots of leg room!
DIA
We arrived in Denver and had to wait an hour and a half or so to pick up our rental car.. Which came in handy bc we were able to plan our day and find a yelp-approved place to eat!
This was our little guy for the week.. A 2013 Toyota corolla.. Which proved to be not the best car for the Colorado altitude and weather.. But it sufficed!
First view of Denver
We headed straight to eat at a highly recommended place called Snooze
Cor liked it.. But it was just meh to me!
We then headed to explore downtown Denver
Mile high!!
After a bit of exploring we headed to our hotel which was about an hour 45 away
Our room was great and had almost a full kitchen which was awesome!
Our hotel was in Avon, CO. It's a beautiful little town right next to Vail, which is the most beautiful place I've ever seen.
The rest of Saturday we got some groceries and did a little exploring nearby
Bears made out of wire
Sunday we got up early to head to the Vail Farmers Market.. It's the biggest in the state!
Ski lifts
So much beauty everywhere we looked!
Monday we started the day by walking down by the river
Then we headed to explore the Boulder area!!
University of Colorado- Boulder
First stop was Avery Brewing for some beer and tots!
Then we headed to downtown Boulder
Yummy cupcake .. Cor gets 3/4 and I get 1/4 =]
After downtown we drove about 15 minutes to Longmont, CO because our fave blog (Mr. Money Mustache) lives there and it seemed like a place we may want to settle one day!
It was very cute and had everything we would need.. The scenery needless to say = perfect
We really wanted to go to Fort Collins, CO .. Another potential settling place.. But it was another hour away, giving us a 3+ hour drive home =\
So we headed back to Boulder to take the free brewery tour of Avery!
Had to sign the guest book!
Very informative.. Not really a tour, more of a talk... But hey still cool!
Then it was time to head back to our hotel.. We were getting tornado warnings over the radio and I was freaked out
But nevertheless we decided to stop at the well known Beaujos pizza in Idaho Springs, CO on the way home
The crust was huge! It was very good, but I wish the crust had a little more flavor. (It's meant to be eaten with honey)
It was a great first few days, but stay tuned because our trip gets even better!
Part 2 coming up shortly =]
XO
