After Colorado Cor and I only had a few days before it was time for me to begin another school year of work!
I am lucky that I do not mind going back to work and I was actually looking forward to it
Wednesday morning out department had a meeting at my school so it was nice to see how everyone's summer was!
The staff lounge had been completely redone so of course Vanessa and I had to test it out
My dad came and installed curtains in my room so that I don't have wear sunglasses in my room until 10 am! Hehe
On Thursday Aug.7 my mom, dad, my moms friend Ann, Vanessa, and I (we were all working on the classrooms) were walking out to the car to go home and we notice this little dog laying under Vanessa's car. He kind of walked away when we came near but he seemed confused and very hot. He was so skinny but didn't look too dirty. I figured he was someone's dog and had gotten loose. We looked around the neighborhood but no one was looking for him. So we took him to the shelter, hoping his owner would find him there.
When we arrived to drop the pup off, the clerk informed us that he would be held for 4 days and if he had not been claimed after that period he would be put up for adoption if he had a good demeanor.
So we left him and I planned on calling daily to check on his status.
Well, the weekend went by and no one had claimed this sweet little guy.
As of Tuesday morning he would be adoptable or euthanized if he did not have an adoptable personality.
Meanwhile, Cor and I made an overnight trip on Friday up to Fremont, CA. I won't mention why as of now. We did get to stop in Tehachapi for our favorite sandwiches! We also got to meet up with Cor's childhood friend, Sean.
Even though we took many trips this summer, it was nice to get away again.
We had a nice sushi dinner at a local
spot
And we headed to bed early. Saturday after some business we were back on the road home.
I called Tuesday around 10 am and the clerk informed me that the adoption area was completely full and the dog would be euthanized that day.
I immediately called Cor, crying my eyes out. My parents did not want the little guy to be put down either, so I rushed over and paid his adoption fee.
I couldn't take him home that day because he had to go into surgery to be neutered.
But Wednesday Aug 13 he was all ours!
It was also our baby Bruce's birthday on the 21st!!!
Bruce has given Cor and I so much joy and we love him more than words. Cor said the best birthday present we could have given him was Milo, because they are best buds and love to play together.
So now I'm back at work and back with my kids and I feel completely in my element. I will post pictures of my updated therapy room in my next post!
Until the next adventure!
